SENIOR LEAGUE Tuesday evenings, area men and women gather at the Minocqua Gun Club for an evening of competitive trap shooting and camaraderie. Each team has five shooters, shooting the first round (25 targets) at 16 yards; those scores are totaled and divided by the number of shooters for the round, 2 yards are added to that average for the second round handicap yardage. The minimum handicap yardage is 20 yards. The Senior League season runs for 16 weeks from mid May to September. Team members can either shoot ahead or make up a missed evening; but the handicap yardage is YOUR individual score plus 2 yards and the 20 yard minimum still applies. Rain outs are made up on the following Thursday. If you have started to shoot and rained out, you can pick up where you left off. Each individual shooter is responsible for entering shoot ahead or make up scores in the score book on the counter in the clubhouse. We cordially invite you to join in the fun each Tuesday evening throughout the summer by joining or forming a trap shooting team. It’s fast paced, competitive and has a social atmosphere that is first rate. See you on the firing line. Twilight League Early each June, the Twilight League begins its 13 week schedule (Monday’s) with teams from Land O Lakes, Boulder Junction, Rhinelander and Minocqua each vying for bragging rights as the best trap team in the North Woods. Format: Each team must have a minimum of eight shooters on a squad. All shooting is from the 16 yard line; from that, the top 5 scores are totaled and posted as the team score. The first round is $12 / person. You can to shoot a second round to possibly improve your score for an additional $10. Every time you shoot a round, a ticket is entered into a drawing for prizes at the season banquet which is rotated among the towns. Make up rounds or advance rounds must be shot at the location missed. The Twilight League is great fun - North Woods style. Men and women trap shooters from all over the Lakeland area shoot it up each Monday evening in the spirit of friendly competition. And of course, the scores are usually discussed afterward at a favorite local watering hole. Land
